Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how FailFixer handles data across (a) the desktop app, (b) the website, and (c) beta/support forms.

Important: This is operational draft policy language and may need jurisdiction-specific updates. Consult legal counsel before production launch.

2. Desktop App Data

FailFixer is primarily local-first. Your G-code files and generated output remain on your device unless you choose to share files with support.

  • Local processing: G-code parsing and recovery file generation are performed locally.
  • License validation: activation/license checks may involve Lemon Squeezy licensing infrastructure.
  • No hidden cloud sync: we do not advertise background cloud upload of your print files.

3. Website & Form Data We Collect

When you submit support, bug, or beta forms, we collect the data you enter plus limited technical metadata to reduce abuse and duplicate submissions.

  • Submitted fields: name, email, printer/software details, and message content.
  • Basic client metadata: user agent, browser language, timezone, platform, viewport/screen information, and similar device/browser signals available to standard web APIs.
  • Generated client hash: a SHA-256 hash built from available browser/device signals to help detect repeated abusive submissions.
  • Timing/anti-bot fields: form render/submit timestamps, elapsed seconds, and honeypot field result.
  • Server/provider logs: IP address and request metadata may be logged by hosting/form providers as part of normal operations.

We do not claim to collect hardware serial numbers, MAC addresses, or other identifiers that are not exposed by normal browser security models.

4. Why We Use This Data

  • Evaluate beta applications and communicate approvals/next steps
  • Provide support and troubleshoot issues
  • Prevent spam, bot submissions, code abuse, and repeated fraudulent requests
  • Operate licensing, delivery, and customer service workflows

5. Third-Party Processors

We use third parties to run parts of the workflow. Their policies govern data they process on our behalf.

  • Lemon Squeezy: payment processing, licensing, digital fulfillment — Privacy Policy
  • Form backend provider (e.g., Formspree/FormSubmit): form delivery, spam filtering, submission transport
  • Hosting provider: static site hosting and standard server logs

6. Retention & Security

We retain submitted form records and related metadata only as long as reasonably necessary for support, beta administration, abuse prevention, legal compliance, and operational records. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no internet transmission/storage is guaranteed 100% secure.

7. Your Choices & Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or objection related to personal data. To request this, email support@failfixer.com. For payment/order data, Lemon Squeezy may handle requests directly for records they control.
